IN-PERSON WORSHIP
In-Person worship will begin on June 6, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Plans and procedures are being set in place to enable us to gather safely at church for worship celebrations with confidence and good safety measures in place. As soon as we receive approval from Bishop Grant Hagiya of the California-Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church, we will announce the day and time for returning to worship services in our sanctuary. It will be a wonderful time of rejoicing, celebration, and great fellowship. We are looking forward to having an awesome worship experience together in the Lord our God.
Ministry
Vision for Ministry & Mission
As a church, St. Paul’s UMC recognizes that we are sinners saved by grace yet called into ministry by God to serve our Lord Jesus Christ in this community. We are committed to the inclusiveness of all peoples in our ministry. Moreover, we are committed to uplifting, nurturing and spiritual growth of children, youth, and adults by teaching the Scriptures and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Food Pantry (since 2016)
Due to the pandemic, St. Paul stepped up in response to the call from the San Diego Food Bank and accepted the opportunity to become a “Super Pantry” on July 1, 2020. Functioning as a “Super Pantry,” we moved from distributing food to the community one day to three days per week. In addition to the food distribution as a Super Pantry, a new program emerged to meet added demand for families in the community – pamper distribution.
Bible Study
Opportunities for spiritual growth are available by participating in our Bible study groups through Google Duo, conference calls, and/or Zoom. Various books of the Bible are key sources for discussion and reflection. Bible study groups meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am and evenings at 6:30pm. If interested, you may contact the church for registration and online information.
Friday Nite Live (Children’s & Youth Ministry)
Purpose of Friday Night Live ministry is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for young people of the neighborhood to learn spiritual truths, gain new experiences and have fun together. Participants engage in activities that will enhance cognitive development, coping skills, social development and grow spiritually through application of biblical principles for daily living. Interaction and appreciation of diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds, learning about healthy diets and regular exercises are also emphasized.
